District Police Kulgam arrested two drug peddlers alongwith 2.5 KGs of Cannabis (Charas)
Kulgam Nov 16 : Continuing its intensified fight against drug menace, Kulgam police under the close supervision of Superintendent of Police Kulgam Shri. Gurinderpal Singh-IPS in a major success arrested two Drug peddlers alongwith big haul of Narcotic drugs.
During intervening night 15/16 November, 2020 specific information was generated by Kulgam police regarding drug Dealings. Following the information Police Party headed by SHO Kulgam SI Imtiyaz Malik under the Supervision of DYSP HQRs Kulgam Shri. Ghulam Mohd Bhat-JKPS Raided the suspected Location (Residential house of Ghulam Mohd Laway) at Chawalgam Kulgam, from where officers after going through checkings were able to recover 2.5 KGs of Cannabis(Charas) like substance from the possession of two persons namely Ghulam Mohd Laway S/O Gull Mohd Laway R/O Chawalgam and his Wife Shameema both Residents of Chawalgam Kulgam who were arrested and Contraband substance was seized on the spot.
Regarding the incident case FIR No. 280/2020 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Kulgam and further investigation into the matter has been initiated.
Kulgam Police is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace and will continue its unwavering systematic efforts to eradicate all forms of Social Evils within the district and warns strict action against those whosoever found indulging in anti-social activities. People are requested to come forward with any information about drug peddling/consumption in their neighbourhood.
