Children’s Day celebrated at DCPU Bandipora
Bandipora, Nov 14, KDC: The Children’s Day was Saturday celebrated at District Child Protection Unit in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
District Child Protection Unit Bandipora organised the event marking the day.
The day is celebrated each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide and improving children’s welfare.
Gowhar Mehmood, Child protection officer, spoke on the occasion and stressed upon the responsibility of adults towards the children.
He said, “Children are a great blessing from Allah. With their tender hearts, children can be molded into righteous people only with a positive and tender approach. Islam considers children to be a trust given to the family. Therefore, it is obligatory for the family to raise a child in a righteous manner.
One should not favor one child over another.”
“Every day is a children’s day and that is what we all should believe in,” said Gowhar Mehmood.
Children from different clusters of Bandipora participated in the event.
The children performed a play on blind faith, sang songs and danced to traditional and modern songs. (KDC)
