Traffic movement suspended on Gurez-Bandipora road

Bandipora, Nov 13, KDC: Traffic movement on 86 Km long Gurez-Bandipora road was suspended on Friday evening in view of the weather advisory issued by Metheological department.

An official told news agency KDC that traffic movement on Gurez-Bandipora was immediately stopped from both the sides soon after Sub Divisional Magistrate Gurez in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday ordered the closure of road.

As per order issued by SDM Gurez, a copy of which lies with news agency KDC, reads, “In view of weather advisory issued by Metrological department regarding heavy snow fall from today. It is hereby ordered that all types of movements (Vehicular/ Public) shall remain suspended on Gurez-Bandipora road from 5 PM 13-11-2020, till further orders.”

Moreover, Police officials have been directed to ensure the implementation of order in letter and spirit.

Pertinently, The 84-km long road is the only link connecting Gurez with Bandipora and the outside world. The road often remain closed during winters. (KDC)
