Illicit timber siezed in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, Oct 01 : A large quantity of illicit timber was siezed in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Thursday morning.

Sources told Kashmir Despatch that a four wheeler sumo without number plate on its way to Kangan was siezed by a forest check post at Kachpura.

A large quantity of illegally cut timber was recovered from the siezed vehicle sources added.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that a case in this regard has been registered and further investigation has been set into motion. He said the vehicle was confiscated by the Forest Department employees. However, the driver of the sumo vehicle managed to escape from the spot.
