No middle class, lower middle class students can afford to pay fee: Students
Srinagar, Aug 6: The students of the Central University have urged its management to waive off the course fee for the second semester.
A delegation of the students said the Central University Management has asked them to pay the fee for the second semester immediately.
“In view of the current pandemic, it is not possible for our parents to pay the fee. When the government should have started providing some sort of facilities for online education, it is warning the students on paying fees,” said the students who did not want to be named fearing repercussions from the management.
The student said the Valley was under lockdown for a year and no one has been able to earn which has even made livelihood difficult under such circumstances.
“How can management and the government be so insensitive. Should they bother about providing education and engaging students through a proper online system or they should be collecting fees. It is ironic that the government has not thought about it and they are just seeking fees which is not possible for the students belonging to the middle class or lower middle class families,” they said.
They urged the Government authorities and the university management to completely waive off the course fee so as to provide some sort of relief to their parents in these distressing times.(CNS)
