Contraband substance recovered

Srinagar, Aug. 06:(GNS) Police today said that it arrested four harecore drug peddlers in Kralgund area of North Kashmir’s Handwara.

In a statement Police said that, acting swiftly on reliable information, police party from Police Station Kralgund have raided Badrah Payeen area of Handwara and apprehended persons identified as Tawseef Ahmad Dar son of Gh Rasool Dar resident of Badrah Payeen,
Muzamil son of Nazir Ahmad Resident of Noor Bagh Sopore and Junaid Ah Peer son of Gh Mohd Peer resident of Tujer Shareef Sopore.

During search narcotic substances ( brown sugar/heroine)more than 50grms were recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Kralgund where they are in police lockup.

According, case FIR No. 74/2020 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kralgund and investigation has been initiated.
Meanwhile one more natorious Drug Peddler has been arrested identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Mir @ Chakoo s/o Gh Nabi Mir R/o Beighpora Kralgund According, case FIR No. 75/2020 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kralgund and investigation has been initiated.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the said accused persons are notorious drug peddlers who were supplying drugs among the youth in the area.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Police has resolved to deal robustly with drug peddlers.

The statement further says that our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace, the statement ends.(GNS)
