Jammu & Kashmir cricketer Abdul Samad finally made his IPL debut

Srinagar, Sep 30: Hailing from Kala Kotvillage in Reasi Tehsil ofJammu&Kashmir,youngster Abdul Samad made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut on Tuesday when the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) locked horns with table-toppers Delhi Capitals. Samad has become the third player from JK to make his debut in the IPL.Before Samad, youngsters Parvez Rasool and Rasikh Salam had made JK proud by making their respective debuts in the cash-rich league.

Samad’s Jammu and Kashmir teammate Manzoor Dar was also picked by Kings XI Punjab in 2018 but the cricketer did not receive a start in the IPL. Widely regarded as one of the most exciting talents in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League, Samad was roped in by the 2016 champions last year during the IPL auction.

Samad had raised his stocks when the JK rookie smashed a 68 runs off 53 against Gujarat in the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy in Jaipur. The 2016 champions were thoroughly impressed by Samad’s all-round abilities and on matchday 11 of the cash-rich league, theJK youngster received his first start for the David Warner-led side.
