Picture of Nowgam youth holding gun is fake, edited

SRINAGAR, The pictures of a Nowgam youth where he can be seen holding an AK-47 and wearing an camouflage vest which has been making rounds on social media since today morning is fake and has been edited by some miscreants.

While talking to Press Trust of Kashmir, the youth said that he was called upon by some friends who told him about the picture.“I received the picture from my friends on WhatsApp at around 12:00 am last night after which I got completely shocked.”

He further said that some people are trying to defame his image and wants strict action against those who are involved in it. “Some people are trying to defame my image and want to spoil my life. I have registered a complaint in Police Station Nowgam in this regard and I want strict action those involved in it.”

The picture is originally of slain militant Shoaib urf Mursi who was killed in an encounter with security forces few months ago and has now been photoshopped.

Moreover, the youth has requested those who have shared his picture to delete and asked to not further share it.
