Srinagar, Sep 10 (KNO): Scores of B. Tech students of government college of engineering and technology Safapora in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district held a protest demonstration at press colony Srinagar on Thursday, demanding online examination for the 3rd Semester.

While talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the students said that it has been a year since their 3rd-semester examination is not being held. “We are being told that our examination will be held offline without notifying any dates.”

The students demanded that their 3rd-semester exam must be conducted online as soon as possible amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Haseeb, a B. Tech student of the 2018 batch said that the authorities must reconsider their decision of conducting their 3rd-semester exam in offline mode and should be conducted in online mode keeping in view COVID-19.

Pertinently, in the minutes of a meeting which was held on 20th July, the copy of which lies with KNO reads that Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor did not favor of conducting the examination through offline mode because of the grim spike in COVID19 cases in all districts of Kashmir valley, even if all SOPs are followed, the health of examinees and supervisors is at risk—(KNO)
