Pakistan cricketer Kainat Imtiaz finally says yes, announces engagement – see pic

Pakistan cricketer Kainat Imtiaz announced her engagement last week. She has played 11 ODIs and 12 T20Is so far.

Pakistan women’s team pacer Kainat Imtiaz surprised the fans last week by announcing her engagement. The 28-year-old wrote that she has finally said yes. She got engaged on July 18. Kainat is quite active on social media and often shares posts for her fans on various platforms.

The Karachi-born pacer had made her international debut against South Africa in a T20I game played in Potchefstroom in 2010. A year later, she made her ODI debut against Bangladesh in Fatullah.

Kainat has nine wickets in 11 ODIs while she has scalped six wickets in 12 T20Is. An irregular member of the team, Kainat’s previous appearance for the Women in Green came against Bangladesh in October last year. The series was played in Pakistan. She wasn’t a part of the T20 World Cup squad, where Pakistan only managed one win.

Kainat was a part of the team for the 50-over World Cup played in England three years ago. She scalped three wickets in four matches. Pakistan had lost all the seven matches to crash out from the league stage.

The right-arm pacer will be hoping to make a comeback in the national team whenever the season starts. For now, there has been no cricket in Pakistan. There men’s team had to fly to the UK for the series.

They have resumed training and are set to make international comeback next month. Azhar Ali will lead the Test team in three matches while Babar Azam will do the captaincy in the T20Is. It remains to be seen if the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is able to organise the domestic season in these testing times.
