Srinagar, May 26 (KNS): President Jammu and Kashmir students welfare organization,Majid Rashid Wani, requested Lieutenant Governor of U T J&K for the restoration of 4G internet services in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to statement issued to KNS Majid said”it has been since August 5, students have not attented the schools”.
“In the meantime students returned to schools after more than half a year but just within a fortnight, educational institute were ordered to shut in view of the Coronavirus out break leaving lakh’s of students home ridden”, he said.
The students welfare president further said that long break has frustrated school managements as they are unable to deliver online classes unlike other places.
Maid said “The loss could have been compensated by online classes. But we fail to find logic in restricting internet, and not restoring 4g internet with the rest of country and in light of the covid19 pandamic on the vague grounds of national security is a violation of the fundamental rights, dignity, free speech and shows non application of mind”.
“The non availaibility of high speed internet is hampering studies of students and we don’t want schooling should be affected any more”.
Majid requested LG to restore 4g internet services in the J&K UT on humanitarian grounds, the statement said (KNS)
