Two more discharged from SKIMS, over 58,000 under surveillance in J&K

Srinagar, April 16 (KNO): Fourteen more persons were tested positive for novel coronavirus in Kashmir that include twin sisters and a minor girl’s father, taking the number of the Covid-19 patients in Jammu and Kashmir to 314.

“14 new cases- all from Kashmir Division. Total cases now 314. Jammu Division-54 and Kashmir Division-260,” Rohit Kansal, government spokesman tweeted.

With 38 recoveries and four deaths reported in J&K Union Territory, the total number of active cases in the UT are 272. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among new four cases ten are from Bandipora, two from Srinagar, one each from Ganderbal and Budgam.

In Bandipora, six are from Naidkhai, two from Gund Qaiser, one each from Tangath and Gund-Jahangir, officials said adding, total number of positive cases have reached to 66 with active cases at 54. Officials from Ganderbal said that one person from Gutlibagh Ganderbal having travel history outside valley has been tested positive.

Dr G H Yatoo Nodal officer for covid-19 at SKIMS told KNO that 11 persons were tested positive at SKIMS on Thursday, among them 10 are from Bandipora and one Ganderbal.

He further added that two more patients one from Srinagar and other from Bandipora were discharged from SKIMS after complete recovery. Dr Naveed Ahmad Shah, Head of Department Chest Disease Hospital told KNO that no new patient was added to the CD hospital and all the patients who are undergoing treatment are recovering well.

Dr Tabasum Deputy medical superintendent JLNM hospital Rainawari told KNO that twin sister and father of a 6 year old girl who was tested on Wednesday, have been tested positive on Thursday however mother of twins has been tested negative.

“Total five patients were added to JLNM hospital, taking the toll of total positive cases at JLNM to 25 who all are asymptomatic,” she

As per officials figures 78 positive cases including one death and 12 recoveries are from Srinagar, 66 including eleven recoveries and one death are from Bandipora, 42 including one death are from Baramulla, 12 including three recoveries from Budgam, 3 from Pulwama including one recovery, 14 from Shopian including two recoveries, 25 from Kupwara, 13 from Ganderbal, 4 from Kulgam and 2 from Anantnag in Kashmir division.

In Jammu division, 26 including three recoveries are from Jammu district , 20 including one death and four recoveries are from Udhampur, 4 from Samba and 3 from Rajouri including one recovery and one from Kishtiwar who has also recovered.

As per the daily information bulletin 58,076 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 7,463 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 272 persons are in hospital isolation while as 265 persons are under hospital quarantine.

According to the bulletin, 20,706 persons have completed surveillance period and 29,366 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 5,680 samples are available.
