Father says want to see his son crack IAS

Jammu, Dec 01 (KNO): Son of a surrendered Hizbul Mujahidin militant has secured admission in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) with army authorities felicitating both father-son duo.

Saqib Anjum son of Akther Hussain was one of the individual who attended the preparation classes run by army at Dharmari in Reasi. His father, Akhter Hussain is a surrendered militant who was active from 1999 to 2002.

Akther was affiliated with Hizb in 2002 he surrendered before the army unit. Post his surrender, he got the Indane Gas counter at Dharmari to earn his living.

Army said that recently, Akther was contacted by Army and was persuaded to get the form of his son filled for Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya exam, an army official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)

Later, Akhtar motivated his son to study for a bright future. “Saqib cleared the exams in open combined aptitude test and is the first child from his native village to do so,” the officials said.

Akther said that he wants his son to become IAS officer after completion of his studies.

Both the father-son duo were felicitated by the Indian Army by presenting them a gift-hamper comprising a school bag, dictionary, stationary, pencil box, track suit and shoes. In addition, monetary reward for meeting expenses to attend Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya School—(KNO)
